PNW PACE Partners

MultiCare

PACE stands for Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly. It is a Medicare and Medicaid program that helps seniors 55 or older to meet their health care needs in the community instead of going to a nursing home or other care facility. DH was tasked to create a website for the program where users can find details and see if they qualify. My role was to update the initial draft and add a PNW theme to the site. MultiCare also wanted a search function where users could type in their zip code and see if it was in a qualifying area. For this task, I custom-coded a form using HTML and JavaScript.

MultiCare shared this photo with us of their office in Seattle. They wanted us to take inspiration from the pacific northwest wallpaper and build a theme around it for the website.

Here is a breakdown of my solution for the design theme of the website. After living in the pacific northwest for about five years, I've come to admire the greenery and beautiful mountains here. I created some illustrations using those elements and used a layered effect with a custom color palette.

This was a custom form that was built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This was my solution for a search bar where website visitors could find out if their zip codes were in a qualifying area for the program.

This was made possible by utilizing functions, arrays, and conditional statements. I created an array that stored the zipcodes that were "valid", and if a match wasn't found, it would return the message "Sorry: our service is not available in this area." With CSS, I was able to style and match my new form to fit the wordpress theme/website.
